During this lock down many people works from home mainly IT professionals, Teachers, business professionals etc. First, it reduces physical activity and eating more food, because they are in home and when ever they need food or snack they can eat it without portion control, this creates many problems for those with disease conditions such as Diabetes, Hypertension and many more ,it leads to Obesity and other diseases.
It is first indication your body tells you that “you’re in the inflammation stage “and at this stage you may experience weight gain ,depression ,stress and other mental related disorders because your hormones are at higher levels and muscle wasting also happens . if you are not able to rectify this stage it can lead to chronic diseases and certain type of cancers etc.
Diabetes killed 1.6 million people in 2016 (by WHO). It is mainly due to less physical activity and binge eating. It is the first starting stage for other diseases to take place. In diabetes mellitus, eating high calorie foods increases glucose levels in the blood and insulin secretion is limited. The glucose oxidation by muscle tissues will not function in the absence of insulin so the blood glucose levels are higher. Eating high calorie foods and doing work in one place without moving your body results in diabetes mellitus.
Ischaemic heart disease and stroke are the world’s biggest killers, accounting for a combined 15.2 million deaths in 2016. It is due to free fatty acids which settles down in the blood vessels. Oxidation of fat is not applicable when no physical activity is done. The Diet rich in trans fat, high sodium and low fibre content may lead to CVD.
Due to free fatty acids, Gall bladders stones may form and leads to cancer and cancers due to smoking are lung cancers and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease . Due to high levels of hormons and blood pressure it may also lead to blood cancer and death. The diet with low vitamins and minerals may lead to cancer.
It affects vision due to over using of devices, joint pains and muscle sprain due to sitting in one position for a long time, back pain and neck sprain. In long term it may lead to SARCOPENIA – loss of skeletal muscle.
Eating a balanced diet with 15-20 minutes of physical activity for every half of the day is necessary. If moving out is banded why we should band with diseases.
